Our tub refinisher was Bill Bauer (814-349-8983).
Here is the timeline I have for the tub—once the temps were above 50F it took just about 2 weeks to get the interior/exterior finished.
Jan 23 2010 The shingle crew arrived as we were leaving for Salvage Haven (2690 Wm Penn Ave, (814) 322-1856) near Johnstown. We saw a 4' and a 4.5' clawfeet tubs, fair interior condition but not very good outside. We bought the 4.5', piled it in the truck and came along home.
Feb 17 2010 Bill Bauer, the bathtub restorer, told us the refinishing will have to wait for some warmer weather—he needs the temperature to be about 50 degrees outside as his mechanical equipment is not located inside his environmentally controlled workshop.
Mar 25 2010 We called Bill Bauer about the claw foot tub restoration: 2-3 weeks.
Apr 8 2010 Paul met Bill in State College at 0730 to pick up the renovated clawfoot. Bill told us that the cast marks on the feet indicates this is a very old tub. 2010.07.30 moved next door
