Pheasant

A few years ago, we had Friendly Freddy the Ruffed Grouse.  Today we saw a pheasant hanging around the first waterbar.  When I got out of the car to take this picture, he came closer.  I'd guess someone is raising them, perhaps for the Game Commission and Game Land stocking closer to hunting season.

It's a rainy day. I can hear the grass growing. It's a gently pitter-patter on the roof.  I love days like this.

Yesterday I noticed quite a bit of ragweed growing on the mound in the lupine rows.  When I walked around the house with Paul trying to show him what he should weed out I couldn't find a single ragweed.  I must be doing a fair job keeping up with the weeds.  I wonder how long that will last!

Lifer

Gambol alerted us to a female pheasant on the back hill this morning about 10:00.  She wandered around the currents and viburnums for 15 min before moseying into the aspen cut.
