(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muddler) A muddler is a bartender's tool, used like a pestle to mash—or muddle—fruits, herbs and spices in the bottom of a glass to release their flavor.
Cocktails that require the use of a muddler include:
- Mojito made with light rum
- Caipirinha made with cachaça
- Caipiroska made with vodka
- Mint julep made with Bourbon whiskey
- Old Fashioned made with whiskey or brandy
And then there were four.
Each is about 8 3/8 inches long and range from 1.0 to 1 3/8 inches in
diameter. The last of the four I
designed to be used from either end. I
had read that was a particular commercial model, so I just improvised. The finish is walnut oil and that will dry
completely so there won't be any off flavor imparted to the drinks. These are all food safe. A fun and easy project.
