Hawking in Maryland

Herr Admiral took us to Andrew Bullen's mini-meet on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, near Easton.  We stayed at Chez Cheshire on Friday because take-off was at 0600.
First we went out with Bill McBride and his redtail.  20 minutes and 200 yards and the hunt was over: the bunny was dead.

After lunch we went with Bill Harry and his peregrine VaPa (so named because one of her early flights she flew from Virginia to Pa). This was more of a demo than a hunt.  Bill was prepared with a couple of pigeons in his pocket. The wind had really picked up so VaPa didn't soar as high as she might have.  She missed the first release, but hit the second and had pigeon for lunch in a tree 500 yds from where the pigeon was released.

Carl made a fantastic Hasenpfeffer, the best one of 3 rabbit stews.  Andrew had Chesapeak Bay Oysters to complete our meal.
