Fisher?

Is it possible I saw a fisher?  I was headed toward Julian on the Beaver Rd about .2 mile from 220 when a black furry thing slinked, cat-like, into the trees.  I stopped because I thought it was a bear cub and to give it another chance to show itself.  Cat-like motion, bear cub size, black. Too big for a cat, too cat-like for a dog, too much tail for a bear cub.  Of course, I only had a millisecond to see all this. Our trapper neighbor has caught one so although Wikipedia shows their range as north of us, I guess they are around.
