This summer was very dry. Our Spruce trees, especially, didn't like it. The damage showed suddenly at the end of the fall. We'd seen small branches bare of needles earlier, but all of a sudden in late November whole trees were naked. Maybe 10 trees ion the fringe are gone.
We also lost a white pine in the planting by the driveway an d a couple of jack pines at the entrance to the forest by the tree fort.
Paul took a sample to the Penn State lab show said it wasn't bugs or fungus, but environmental damage. Can't do much about that.
