History lesson

59 years ago I lived in Hawaii. My grandparents came to visit. The night before they were to leave, our lava seawall blossomed with night-blooming cereus. My grandfather dearly wanted a picture of the spectacular display but my grandmother wouldn’t let him get his clothes wet in the monsoon rain. He went out naked and got his picture.
Sometimes, while the story isn’t the same, we are reminded of our history. He’s not naked and it’s hail, but it’s photography and weather all the same.

Hail 6" deep

Over an inch in 1 hour.  The driveway is rough: ruts all the way down. All of the speed bumps breached.
