Molly: bio for NBRAN website

Molly came to us as an owner surrender with some health problems but she’s all fixed up now and looking for a family to love.  She had some rotten teeth and 2 mammary tumors removed.  One site will have to be monitored as it was cancerous. She is spayed, up to date on shots and vaccinations, and is microchipped. She’s 10 or so and weighs in at 42 lbs.
She is definitely a people dog and will do anything to please.  Molly is laid back and gentle.  She just wants to be where her person is, and she loves to get pets and scratches, and hugs and kisses. She sleeps on the floor by her person and sleeps as late as you will let her, but does like a comfy chair when one is available. We haven’t seen her play with toys but now that her teeth are more comfortable that might happen.
She is house trained and not destructive when left alone in the house. She may have some separation anxiety but her foster brothers have kept that to a minimum.  She is a quiet dog and greets her returning family with a whole waggy body.
She is not crate trained.
She doesn’t like loud noises and quivers during thunderstorms.
She lived with small children and a cat in her previous life, but she would really like to chase meadow bunnies and butterflies, so cats might be a problem she’d have to relearn.  She gets along well with her 3 foster brothers, and has no food aggression with them or with her people.
She is not curious about waste cans and counter tops.
She is eager to have her walking harness/car safety belt put on.  She travels well and jumps into the car by herself. The faster her person walks the better she is at leash walking.  She’s not a saunterer. She likes to be first so if she’s walking with another dog, she will press ahead.  While she knows not to lunge out an open door, she prefers to be the first one inside.  She knows her name well when she’s inside and comes running when called.  She’s not quite as attentive outside, but doesn’t get very far from her person.
Molly is about as easy going as Brittanys come! She will make a great companion or family dog.

The Duchess had her big surgery yesterday.  She had 12 little teeth removed and 2 mammary mast cell tumors also removed.  That was a big surprise.  She has 2 4" incisions but has been very good about not bothering them.  $1600.

Molly: Mid-week #2

We are into our 2nd week with our #NBRAN #foster Duchess Molly. She had her vet check and $500 later she has been poked and prodded and is up to date on her vaccinations. She's 42.7 pounds. I think she could lose 2, but 3-5 miles a day will help that process. She had a bout of diarrhea/vomiting on Wednesday night so she is now on Metronidzazole. It was an imbalance of her gut flora, nothing to worry about, and we caught it quickly so she didn't get dehydrated. She has transitioned to our food with no trouble. She'll have her teeth worked on in 2 weeks with a couple of extractions, more than likely.

She just stood quietly and accepted the loving from the vet staff as they checked every lump and orifice, even when they looked in her eyes with a bright light, took blood for heartworm test and surgery pre-op, and shot her up. What a good girl.

She gave us her urine and stool samples today so after those tests, we'll know all there is to know about the insides and outsides of our Molly.

She has pointed a scent in the meadow a couple of times and tried to chase a bird Gambol flushed. Then she saw a butterfly which she invited to play.

She is a pleasure to have as our guest and just wants to be with her people. She is reassured by her foster furbros.
