I don't hold for Hallmark made-up honor days. They are a great marketing tool for greeting card suppliers. Every day should be an honor day for all loved ones. But as our lavender bloomed, I knew Father's Day was upon us. I have taken a handful of lavender to Dad for Father's Day since it first bloomed at the Barony. Not this year. I honored Dad by thinking of him.
We have planted other flowers to honor others: peonies for Gloria, lilies of the valley for Mom Mac, and of course daffodils for Mom Kitty.
