Ash blank

I was driving down the Pike when the Huston Twp road crew was processing a large ash killed by emerald ash borers, that I'd been watching for many months.  I was given permission to retrieve a piece. I met the road guy again at the voting booth and reminded him that Paul wanted a hunk. I immediately called Paul to remind him to talk to this man.  Since the tree is at least 30"dbh and rotten in the middle, it had to be cut with a chain saw.  Paul will get several bowls out of this piece.  It still has the pith so it will need more chainsaw work. Ash is a dry wood; even when fresh, it seldom has more than 40% moisture content.
